U.S. News and World Report and Best Lawyers rankings are well-known as one of the most reliable indicators of firms’ excellence throughout the country. Firms included in the “Best Law Firms” list are recognized for their superior practice of law, breadth of legal expertise, and consistently impressive performance ratings by clients and peers. Less than fifteen percent of all firms reviewed nationally are granted the title of a Best Law Firm.

Rankings are based on a rigorous evaluation process that includes the collection of client and lawyer assessments, peer review from leading attorneys in their field, and review of additional information provided by law firms as part of the formal submission process. The 2023 rankings incorporate more than 12.2 million evaluations of more than 115,000 individual leading lawyers from more than 22,000 firms. More than 2,000 firms received a national ranking this year. Of those, more than 500 firms received at least one Tier 1 national ranking.
