Pabst Patent Group Partner Rivka Monheit was recently elected as Chair of the Intellectual Property Section of the Georgia Bar. Ms. Monheit has served in numerous leadership roles within the IP Section for nearly a decade.
The Intellectual Property Section of the Georgia Bar was founded in 1964, and is the oldest IP organization in the state of Georgia. Its mission is to provide information about intellectual property law to its members and to the community at large, and now boasts over 1,000 members.
Ms. Monheit's extensive experience includes counseling universities, research institutions, individual inventors, multinational companies and startup companies with respect to medical devices, drug-delivery materials, imaging and diagnostic agents, personal care products and chemical technologies.
In addition to her involvement with the Georgia Bar, Ms. Monheit is active in many other organizations, including the American Bar Association, American Intellectual Property Law Association, American Chemical Society. She currently chairs the International Patent Treaties and Laws Committee in the Intellectual Property Law Section of the American Bar Association.
