Patent Agent
Yvonne Shyntum, Ph.D. serves as a Patent Agent in the areas of biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. Dr. Shyntum drafts patent applications, prosecutes U.S. patent applications (drafts response, amendments and appeal and reply briefs), and corresponds with foreign associates to guide the prosecution of foreign applications.
Dr. Shyntum's dissertation research was in the areas of pharmacology, nutrition and toxicology, leading to a 'Toxicology Scholar' award by the MSP Program. Dr. Shyntum has extensive experience in molecular biology, animal models of human disease redox biology and toxicology.
Dr. Shyntum's publications include "Extracellular cysteine/cystine redox regulates the p44/p42 MAPK pathway by metalloproteinase-dependent epidermal growth factor receptor signaling", Am J Physiol Gastrointest Liver Physiol.289(1):G70-8 (2005) and "Glutathione and thioredoxin redox during differentiation in human colon epithelial (Caco-2) cells", Am J Physiol Gastrointest Liver Physiol. 283(6):G1352-9 (2002).
