Michael J. Terapane's practice focuses on patent matters in the polymer, chemical and pharmaceutical technologies. Dr. Terapane drafts patent applications, invalidity and non-infringement opinion letters, prosecutes U.S. patent applications (drafts response, amendments and appeal and reply briefs), and corresponds with foreign associates to guide the prosecution of foreign applications.
Dr. Terapane received his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry for research in electron transfer in novel organic systems. He served as a NATO Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Science in Mainz, Germany where he worked on the synthesis and characterization of Ferrocene-substituted Hexabenzocoronenes.
After completing his Ph.D, Dr. Terapane was an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Salem College in Winston-Salem, NC and at Clayton State University in Morrow, GA. Dr. Terapane is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA).
