Charles Vorndran's practice focuses on all aspects of intellectual property with an emphasis in biotechnology and chemical technologies. He has extensive experience in cellular/molecular biology and has prosecuted patent applications directed to bionanotechnology small molecule therapies, genetics, proteins, oligonucleotides, anti-virals, antibody technology, screening assays, DNA/RNA technology, stem cells, tissue engineering, microarrays and peptide nucleic acid technology. Dr. Vorndran counsels clients on managing patent portfolios and incorporates successful business strategies into the prosecution and management of intellectual property.
As a graduate student, Dr. Vorndran was a National Institutes of Health Biophysics fellow, and conducted research on various aspects of cell biology including cell signaling mechanisms using T lymphocytes as a model system. As part of his dissertation, Dr. Vorndran successfully synthesized and characterized novel fluorescent calcium indicator dyes.
